Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director Luis Campos will resume transfer dealings starting Monday, following the club’s decision to postpone all negotiations until after the Champions League final. According to L’Équipe, Campos will be based between Monaco and Paris, meeting with agents and club officials as PSG prepares for a significant overhaul of the squad.
PSG’s strategy, validated by president Nasser al-Khelaïfi and driven by manager Luis Enrique, focuses on proactive recruitment to avoid last-minute scrambles. The club is targeting a central defender capable of playing right-back, a backup left-back for Nuno Mendes, a right-sided attacker, and a new striker. Additionally, they are seeking an 18-year-old goalkeeper to develop within the youth setup.
A key priority for PSG is securing a versatile number nine, and initial discussions were held with Julian Alvarez of Atlético Madrid. However, the club was reportedly put off by the player’s apparent hesitation, with Campos and Enrique prioritizing players who demonstrate a strong desire to join.
Maghnes Akliouche, the 24-year-old Monaco midfielder, is a strong candidate and is said to be very interested in a move to the capital. Akliouche, who has seven international caps for France, previously expressed his desire to play for PSG. His potential arrival would be in addition to signing a more central striker. The future of Lee Kang-in and Gonçalo Ramos is uncertain, as both players seek more playing time, potentially opening the door for departures.
Yan Diomande, a 19-year-old at RB Leipzig, is also under consideration, particularly if negotiations with Alvarez stall. Diomande fits the profile of a right-sided player sought by Enrique. Bradley Barcola’s future is also being assessed, with several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, expressing interest in the 23-year-old, though Liverpool's interest may shift following the appointment of a new manager. PSG will not stand in the way of captain Marquinhos if he wishes to leave, though a move to Saudi Arabia appears less likely, with Qatar a more appealing destination for the 32-year-old. Lucas Hernandez’s situation will also be monitored, but a significant offer would be required for the club to consider a sale. Finally, Lucas Chevalier’s role as a backup goalkeeper will be discussed, with the 24-year-old seeking more playing time, and PSG is also reportedly showing interest in FC Porto’s Diogo Costa.
Akliouche’s arrival would strengthen PSG’s midfield options and provide competition for places, while the pursuit of a new striker aims to address a perceived need for greater firepower in attack. The club’s proactive approach suggests a determination to build a squad capable of challenging for top honors both domestically and in Europe.
