Aston Villa are aiming to bolster their squad with two key signings this summer as they prepare for Champions League football, according to reports. The club, fresh off a fourth-place Premier League finish and a Europa League triumph, is looking to strengthen both the attacking and goalkeeping positions.
Villa’s pursuit of a new central striker has received a boost following comments from Serhou Guirassy’s brother and agent, Karamba Guirassy. Claims of an agreement with Fenerbahçe were swiftly dismissed in a conversation with Sky Sports journalist Patrick Berger, with Karamba stating, “To clarify: no agreement of any kind has been reached… Any claim of a verbal deal is simply not true.” The Guinea international, who has scored 56 goals in two seasons for Dortmund, is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, but appears open to considering offers. His arrival would provide competition and potentially an upgrade to current forward Ollie Watkins.
Simultaneously, Villa are planning for life after Emiliano Martinez, with the Argentina World Cup winner nearing a move to Juventus. According to Matteo Morretto, who works closely with Fabrizio Romano, Juventus is “very close to a total agreement” with Martinez on contract terms, with negotiations with Villa expected to intensify. To fill the potential void, Villa are exploring several goalkeeping options, including Manchester City’s James Trafford and Parma’s Zion Suzuki.
A recent report in the Express & Star indicates that Aston Villa are also monitoring Alex Remiro, the experienced Real Sociedad goalkeeper. The 31-year-old Spaniard, capped twice by his country, has made over 300 appearances for Sociedad and could be available for a reasonable fee with only one year remaining on his current contract. Remiro’s experience and availability make him a viable candidate to replace Martinez should he complete his transfer to Juventus.
There is also developing news regarding Morgan Rogers, with reports suggesting he is now open to leaving Villa Park, potentially attracting a significant bid from Arsenal this summer. These moves signal Villa’s intent to proactively strengthen their squad ahead of a demanding season balancing Premier League and Champions League commitments.
