Agent suggests Osimhen could make €100m Real Madrid move in 2026
A FIFA agent has claimed a summer 2026 transfer for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen to Real Madrid is a realistic prospect, with a potential fee exceeding €100 million. According to agent Mithat Halis, who spoke to Spanish outlet AS, the move would address a long-standing need for a traditional centre-forward at the Santiago Bernabéu. Halis was a partner in the agency that represented Osimhen during his earlier career at Wolfsburg.
Osimhen, 27, only made his permanent move to Galatasaray from Napoli in the summer of 2025 after a prolific loan spell. The Nigeria international enjoyed a sensational 2024/25 campaign in Turkey, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, helping his side win the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Super Cup. He has maintained strong form this season, with 19 goals and seven assists in 30 matches, and is under contract with Galatasaray until 2029.
Halis argued that Real Madrid have not adequately replaced Karim Benzema, forcing Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior to operate out of position. "If they sign Osimhen, Mbappe and Vinicius will play in their natural positions, as wingers, and will be more effective," Halis told AS. He also suggested Barcelona, who are reportedly moving on from Robert Lewandowski, could be another potential destination for the striker next year.
However, a separate report from TEAMtalk casts significant doubt on the likelihood of such a transfer materialising. While acknowledging Osimhen's world-class status and proven Champions League pedigree, the outlet notes that Real Madrid's strategic plans appear to lie elsewhere. The Spanish giants are expected to integrate young Brazilian forward Endrick into their first-team squad next season following his loan spell at Lyon, reducing the immediate need for a major striker signing.
The prospective fee, which Halis estimates would be well over €100 million, represents another considerable obstacle. Real Madrid have recently invested heavily in their squad and may be reluctant to commit such a sum for a player who would turn 28 shortly after a hypothetical 2026 transfer. Furthermore, the club's focus in the upcoming windows may be on retaining key midfield assets amid reported interest from Premier League clubs, rather than launching a record-breaking bid for a striker.
For Galatasaray, the speculation underscores the high level of performance Osimhen has delivered since his arrival. His contract situation provides the Turkish champions with a strong negotiating position, ensuring they would command a monumental fee if any sale were to be considered. As the 2026 summer window remains distant, Osimhen's immediate focus will be on maintaining his scoring form for Galatasaray, while Real Madrid's plans will become clearer following the integration of Endrick.
