Al-Hilal have agreed a £68.2million fee with West Ham United for winger Crysencio Summerville, according to TEAMtalk. The deal represents a significant profit for West Ham, who signed the Dutch forward from Leeds United for £25million in 2024.
Summerville had been a target for several European clubs, with Roma leading the chase and preparing a bid of around £45million. Manchester United also expressed interest in strengthening their attacking options with the 24-year-old, but were unable to compete with Al-Hilal’s financial offer. Roma were reportedly increasingly confident of securing a deal before the Saudi club’s intervention.
Al-Hilal initially made contact regarding Summerville ahead of the World Cup finals, renewing discussions in June as they assessed his situation. The Saudi club’s swift action followed indications from Summerville’s representatives that the player was open to a move to the Saudi Pro League.
Summerville enjoyed a promising first season at the London Stadium, attracting interest from across Europe with his performances for both West Ham and the Netherlands national team. However, the substantial financial package offered by Al-Hilal ultimately proved decisive. The transfer is now considered complete, with only formalities remaining before the official announcement.
