Brazilian winger Raphinha is once again attracting attention from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, according to reports in Spain. Despite recently renewing his contract with Barcelona, interest from Saudi Arabia remains strong, with clubs prepared to make significant offers for both his transfer fee and wages.
Al Hilal and Al Nassr are reportedly the two Saudi clubs most interested in acquiring Raphinha. Mundo Deportivo reports that both clubs are prepared to offer around €80 million to Barcelona for the player’s services. In addition to the transfer fee, Raphinha could be offered a net salary four times his current earnings at the Camp Nou.
The potential deal is again being backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which continues to finance the arrival of international stars to the Saudi league. The fund would cover a significant portion of the investment required to secure Raphinha’s signature. While no advanced negotiations are currently underway, the Saudi clubs view the Brazilian as one of the most prestigious players available.
This is not the first time Saudi clubs have expressed interest in Raphinha. Approaches were made in the summer of 2023 and again in 2024, with the player seriously considering a move at one point. Ultimately, he decided to remain with Barcelona. In an interview with ESPN Brazil in October 2023, Raphinha revealed the financial appeal of the Saudi offer, stating it could have secured the financial future of his family.
“The offer we received from Saudi Arabia tempted me a lot. It would have solved not only my personal life, but also that of my parents, my son and many people,” Raphinha said. “I’ve been playing football since I was 15, I’ve had good and bad times everywhere, so there came a time when I thought it was time to take care of myself and my family. Obviously, we thought about leaving Barcelona. I thought it was time to go, but then we spoke with Flick and he managed to convince me to stay.” The influence of Barcelona manager Julian Nagelsmann proved crucial in persuading Raphinha to stay at the club.
