Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has agreed personal terms with Juventus over a potential move to the Serie A club, according to reports from Italy. The 33-year-old has reportedly agreed to a three-year contract worth €5 million per year, as reported by transfer expert Nicolo Schira on X.
Alisson arrived at Liverpool in 2018 from Roma for a fee of €72.5 million and has been a mainstay in goal for the Reds ever since, consistently ranked among the world’s best goalkeepers. However, with only one year remaining on his current contract, Liverpool face a decision: sell him now or risk losing him for free next summer.
Juventus are now working to negotiate a transfer fee with Liverpool, though the Anfield club have yet to decide whether to sanction a sale. Tuttosport reports that Alisson’s representatives are attempting to engineer a smooth departure from Liverpool, who have triggered an automatic contract extension until 2027. The Turin-based publication also suggests Juventus are seeking a goalkeeper with improved distribution skills, a characteristic Luciano Spalletti is prioritizing in defensive reinforcements.
Liverpool invested in Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in 2024 for a reported €30 million as a potential long-term replacement for Alisson. However, analysis from SciSports indicates Liverpool currently view goalkeeping as a weak area of the squad, with Alisson ranking only 15th among Arne Slot’s first-team players. This suggests that even with Mamardashvili, Liverpool may need to pursue further goalkeeping options should Alisson depart.
Alisson’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €14.9 million. Selling him could provide funds for further squad investment, but would also necessitate finding a suitable replacement to maintain a strong goalkeeping presence. The move would see Alisson return to Serie A, where he previously established himself as a top talent before his move to England.
