Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is actively seeking a transfer to Juventus, despite the complexities of negotiations between the two clubs, according to reports from Italy. The 33-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract at Anfield and is keen to return to Serie A, where he previously established himself during his time with Roma.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Alisson has already agreed personal terms with Juventus, signing a two-year contract worth approximately €7.5 million per season. Sources close to the player have “confirmed” his desire to complete the move, even with ongoing difficulties in reaching an agreement between the clubs. Initial concerns that Juventus’ failure to qualify for the Champions League might deter Alisson have been dismissed, as he remains motivated by the prospect of playing in the Europa League.
Alisson’s potential move is further fueled by the opportunity to reunite with his former Roma manager, Luciano Spalletti, now in charge of Juventus. However, Liverpool are reportedly hesitant to sell the experienced goalkeeper, particularly as they are already preparing for the departure of Mohamed Salah on a free transfer this summer. Losing another key figure from Arne Slot’s squad is a prospect the club is keen to avoid.
A transfer fee of around €15 million has been suggested as a potential breakthrough point in negotiations, though no agreement has yet been reached. Juventus are even considering extending their offer to Alisson, potentially offering a three-year deal worth €7 million per season. The Italian source indicates that the chances of a deal are increasing compared to a few weeks ago.
Should the move for Alisson fall through, Juventus are reportedly considering David de Gea as an alternative option. Liverpool, meanwhile, signed Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in 2024 for €30m as a long-term replacement for Alisson, but questions remain over whether the 25-year-old Georgian international is fully ready to step into the role. Data analysis from SciSports suggests Liverpool’s goalkeeping area is a current weakness, with Alisson ranking only 15th among the club’s squad players. Selling Alisson, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €14.9m, could necessitate another search for a new goalkeeper, even independent of the SciSports analysis.
