Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker is seeking a transfer to Juventus after eight years with Liverpool, despite the club having recently activated an option to extend his contract until June 2027. According to reports, Alisson has already reached an agreement with Juventus over personal terms, with a proposed three-year deal worth €4.5 million per year plus bonuses.
Initial concerns over a €15 million valuation proved a stumbling block for Juventus, who are operating under financial constraints this transfer window. However, Alisson reportedly initiated diplomatic efforts with Liverpool, resulting in the Premier League club softening their stance and opening the door to a potential departure. The strong relationship between Alisson and Liverpool’s management is facilitating a smooth exit.
Alisson is reportedly keen on a return to Italy, citing both professional and family reasons for his desire to move. A significant factor in his decision is the opportunity to reunite with Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti, with whom he previously worked during their time together at Roma in the 2016-2017 season. Despite being a backup to Wojciech Szczęsny at the time, Alisson maintained a positive attitude and impressed Spalletti with his professionalism.
Juventus have paused negotiations with other goalkeeping targets, including Fiorentina’s David De Gea and Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi, following the progress made in securing Alisson’s services. The potential arrival of Alisson casts doubt on the futures of current Juventus goalkeepers Mattia Perin and Marco Di Gregorio, with both players potentially available for transfer. Perin is seeking regular playing time, with Genoa potentially interested, while Juventus are also monitoring the development of young goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara, who is due to return from a loan spell at Avellino in July. This move would provide Juventus with an experienced and proven number one, solidifying their goalkeeping position for the foreseeable future.
