Chelsea could see forward Joao Pedro depart this summer as incoming manager Xabi Alonso weighs potential squad changes, according to reports from AS. Barcelona have expressed strong interest in the Brazilian, with sporting director Deco travelling to London to observe Chelsea’s recent FA Cup final loss to Manchester City and meet with Pedro’s representatives.
While previously considered “untouchable” by the club, a sale could be sanctioned if Alonso believes denying Pedro a move to Barcelona would risk a disruptive dressing room atmosphere, mirroring issues experienced at Real Madrid. This potential sale would free up funds for a significant transfer target – Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea have previously pursued Osimhen, with a “dream” move from Napoli close to materializing in 2024 before collapsing over wage demands. TEAMtalk reports that the Blues are again interested, with Osimhen’s agents actively seeking “elite-level” opportunities. However, Galatasaray are reportedly resolute in their valuation, demanding a fee of €100 million after themselves spending €75 million to acquire the Nigeria international.
Elsewhere, Arsenal are emerging as frontrunners for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola. L’Equipe reports that Liverpool’s interest is genuine, but concerns over hindering the development of Rio Ngumoha – similar to their reasoning for not replacing Luis Diaz last year – may see Arsenal take the lead. The Gunners are prioritizing attacking reinforcements, while Liverpool are focused on finding a successor to Mohamed Salah.
Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi is also attracting attention from the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United both “firmly in the mix” according to TEAMtalk. Contract talks with Dortmund have stalled, increasing the likelihood of a summer sale as his current deal expires next year. Chelsea have already initiated contact with Adeyemi’s representatives. Manchester United are also considering a player-plus-cash offer for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, potentially including Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte, or Marcus Rashford in a deal valued around €50 million, as reported by CaughtOffside.
