Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson may be given a second chance to impress under incoming manager Xabi Alonso, according to reports in the Daily Mail. Jackson spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Bayern Munich after the arrival of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap at Stamford Bridge, but with Delap potentially departing, Alonso is considering reintegrating the Senegal international into the first-team squad.
Bayern Munich opted not to trigger the €65 million purchase option included in Jackson’s loan agreement, meaning he will return to Chelsea for pre-season training. While a sale was previously anticipated, Alonso intends to evaluate Jackson’s form before making a final decision regarding his future. Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, scoring 14 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions before his loan move.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a bid of €100 million, plus potential add-ons, for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, as reported by El Debate. Fernandez is said to be keen on a move to the Spanish capital, and his agent, Javier Pastore, has already initiated discussions with Real Madrid officials. Chelsea have reportedly placed a €138 million price tag on the Argentina international.
Real Madrid are hesitant to meet Chelsea’s valuation, but remain interested in Fernandez and may attempt to include a player in a potential deal to lower the overall cost. Fernandez arrived at Chelsea in January 2023 for a British record fee of £106.8 million, and has become a key component of the Blues’ midfield, making 36 appearances this past season.
Chelsea are also poised to receive a financial boost from the success of former loanee Joao Felix. Felix, who had a previous spell at Chelsea, was sold to Al-Nassr last year in an informal swap deal involving Conor Gallagher. The initial fee was €30 million, with up to €20 million in potential bonuses. Following Al-Nassr’s Saudi Pro League title win – their first since 2019 – and Felix being named Player of the Season, Chelsea are expected to receive a substantial portion of those bonus payments.
