Ruben Amorim has named a 26-man squad for the official start of the Milan pre-season training camp on Monday, July 13th. The Portuguese manager will oversee a double training session, with the latter open to supporters, as he begins preparations for the upcoming Serie A campaign. The squad list released by the club is currently provisional, reflecting the absence of players still involved in international competition.
A significant portion of the squad consists of players from Milan’s second team, including recent acquisitions and youth academy graduates. Defenders Matteo Gabbia and Fikayo Tomori are included, alongside forwards Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic, who were signed earlier this summer. Young prospects Francesco Camarda and Davide Comotto have also been called up, offering them an opportunity to impress the new manager.
The list of goalkeepers includes Alessandro Bouyer, Marco Pittarella, Pietro Terracciano, and Lorenzo Torriani. The defensive options also feature Jan-Carlo Simic, Emil Roback, and Giorgio Gila. The midfield consists of Yacine Adli, Tommaso Ricci, Fodé Ballo-Touré, and Ismaël Bennacer. Completing the squad are forwards Noah Okafor, Divock Origi, and Rafael Leão.
Notably absent from the squad are Ismaël Bennacer and Yacine Adli, indicating they are not currently part of Amorim’s plans and may be seeking moves elsewhere. Bennacer, a key player for Milan in recent seasons, has been linked with a potential transfer away from the club. Adli has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter since joining Milan in 2021.
Amorim’s appointment as Milan manager earlier this month marked a new era for the club, following the departure of Stefano Pioli. The 41-year-old arrives with a strong reputation for developing young players and implementing an attacking style of play. His initial squad selection suggests a willingness to integrate talent from within the club’s youth system, while also relying on established first-team players. This blend of experience and potential could prove crucial as Milan aims to compete for both domestic and European honours next season.
