Angers have announced the loan signing of forward Amine El Ouazzani from Portuguese side Sporting Braga. The move sees the Moroccan international return to France, where he previously played for Guingamp. The club confirmed the agreement on Tuesday, marking their fifth arrival of the transfer window.
El Ouazzani struggled for consistent playing time at Braga, scoring just two goals in 24 appearances across all competitions last season. Prior to his move to Portugal, the 22-year-old enjoyed a productive spell in Ligue 2 with Guingamp, netting 19 goals in 62 matches. He initially rose to prominence at Bourg-en-Bresse, where he scored 11 goals in 55 appearances in the National division.
Angers have been active in the transfer market, with El Ouazzani’s arrival following the loan signing of Anthony Bermont from Lens. They have also secured the services of Anthony Lopes and Branco Van den Boomen on free transfers, and Usman Simbakoli for a reported fee of €250,000. The additions are intended to bolster Angers’ attacking options ahead of the upcoming Ligue 1 season.
Born in Grenoble, El Ouazzani’s early career was marked by consistent goalscoring form in the lower tiers of French football. His performances for Guingamp attracted the attention of Braga, but he failed to establish himself as a regular starter in Portugal. This loan move to Angers offers him the opportunity to rediscover his form in a familiar environment and potentially earn a permanent transfer.
