Fulham have begun the process of identifying a successor to Marco Silva and have included recently departed Liverpool manager Arne Slot on their shortlist, according to TEAMtalk. The club were informed this week that Silva intends to leave when his contract expires this summer to take charge of Benfica.
Fulham’s hierarchy have been preparing for Silva’s departure for some time and are assessing several high-profile candidates. Alongside Slot, former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank are also under consideration. All three are admired by those at Craven Cottage and are seen as capable of continuing the progress Silva established during his tenure.
Slot was recently relieved of his duties at Liverpool after one season in charge, having guided the Reds to a second-place finish in the Premier League and the Europa League quarter-finals. Prior to joining Liverpool, Slot spent three seasons with Feyenoord, winning the Eredivisie title in 2022-23 and establishing a reputation for attacking, possession-based football.
Discussions are expected to take place in the coming days to determine which candidates would be willing to join Fulham. The club believe their Premier League stability and ambitious ownership make the role an attractive proposition, despite competition from other clubs. Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna and Coventry City boss Mark Robins are also being monitored, though McKenna has a significant release clause and Robins’ appointment may be more challenging.
Fulham are keen to move quickly to appoint a new manager, with preparations for next season already underway and recruitment plans needing to be finalised. The swift appointment will be crucial to maintaining the club’s momentum and ensuring a smooth transition following Silva’s departure.
