Arsenal are reportedly considering the departures of forwards Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, with Turkish side Besiktas showing interest in the former and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola identified as potential replacements. According to The Sun, Besiktas are keen on bolstering their attack and have identified Trossard, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium in January 2023, as a target.
Trossard, 31, has proven a valuable asset for Arsenal, notably scoring crucial late goals, but with only one year remaining on his contract, the club may seek to capitalize on his value. Martinelli’s future is also uncertain, with his contract also expiring in 12 months, although Arsenal do have the option to extend his deal by a further season. TalkSPORT previously reported that manager Mikel Arteta has indicated Martinelli could be sold.
Arsenal appear to be proactively planning for potential exits, with reports suggesting they are heavily interested in Rogers, currently at Aston Villa, and Barcola of PSG. Villa are said to value Rogers at a significant £130 million, while PSG are seeking at least £116 million for Barcola. Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail claims that Barcola may favour a move to Arsenal over Liverpool, citing Arteta’s influence and the appeal of London as contributing factors.
TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal are accelerating their efforts to sign Rogers, indicating a serious intent to secure his services. These potential acquisitions suggest Arsenal are aiming for sustained success, willing to make significant investments and demonstrate a ruthless approach to squad building. The pursuit of Rogers and Barcola indicates a desire to upgrade their attacking options, potentially preparing for life without Trossard and Martinelli.
