Arsenal are in a strong position to sign Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, with the club reportedly holding a long-standing interest in the Greece international. The Gunners view Tzolis as a potential addition to revamp their left side of attack, though he is not currently considered their primary target.
Arsenal are pursuing Tzolis alongside their efforts to sign Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, however Villa have reportedly indicated Rogers is not for sale this summer. According to Greek journalist Dimitris Manakos, speaking to Voetbalprimeur, Arsenal’s consistent tracking of Tzolis gives them an advantage in negotiations. “Arsenal have been following Tzolis for a long time and have enormous appreciation for what he has shown over the past twelve months,” Manakos stated.
Tzolis enjoyed a breakout season with Club Brugge, earning the Jupiler Pro League’s Player of the Season award after contributing 22 goals and 29 assists in 52 appearances. In total, the 24-year-old has 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 matches for the Belgian side. Brugge originally purchased Tzolis for €6.5 million and are now seeking a fee exceeding €38 million to make him their record sale.
Club Brugge are reportedly willing to consider offers for Tzolis if their valuation is met, and a fee in the region of €40 million is believed to be sufficient to secure his transfer. Manakos believes that a move to Arsenal would be highly appealing for the player, offering the chance to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs. While further steps are needed to finalize the deal, Manakos suggests Arsenal “hold all the cards” in the pursuit of Tzolis.
