Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are currently at the forefront of the race to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, though the French club is demanding a fee exceeding £60million for the 18-year-old Moroccan international. This valuation would establish Bouaddi as the most expensive player of his age ever sold, surpassing the fees paid for Endrick by Real Madrid and Romeo Lavia by Chelsea.
Despite the significant financial demand, sources indicate that Arsenal and PSG remain the most likely destinations for Bouaddi this summer, with Liverpool and Manchester City recently entering the competition. Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring the situation, alongside European giants Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, all recognizing Bouaddi’s potential.
Bouaddi has quickly gained a reputation as a generational talent, making his debut for Lille at just 16 years old and establishing himself as a key player over the past two seasons. His recent international performance for Morocco against Brazil reportedly further enhanced his standing among elite European clubs.
Arsenal have been tracking Bouaddi for over three years, maintaining consistent contact with his representatives, and believe now is the opportune moment to make a move. Sporting director Andrea Berta is reportedly keen to secure the player, with Arsenal anticipating changes to their midfield options this summer and viewing Bouaddi as a long-term addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad. The potential departure of Christian Norgaard could create space in the squad.
PSG, however, are presenting a strong challenge, with football advisor Luis Campos identifying Bouaddi as a “special talent” and pushing for his acquisition. Campos reportedly envisions Bouaddi as a potential long-term replacement for Fabian Ruiz in the PSG midfield. The primary obstacle remains Lille’s firm stance on their valuation, with the Ligue 1 club determined to maximize their return for a player with three years remaining on his contract and significant interest from across Europe. Arsenal’s established relationship with Bouaddi’s camp could prove crucial, while PSG’s financial resources present a formidable challenge.
