Arsenal have submitted a €40 million (£34m) offer for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, according to a report by CaughtOffside, potentially thwarting interest from Liverpool. The Gunners are seeking to bolster their attacking options following the sale of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for £17m and are viewing the 21-year-old Norwegian as a potential replacement.
Liverpool have already added Victor Munoz from Osasuna for €40 million (£34m) to strengthen their wide areas, but the departure of Mohamed Salah on a free transfer has prompted a search for further reinforcements. Nusa has impressed Liverpool’s recruitment team with his performances for both RB Leipzig and the Norway national team, where he helped his country reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
Nusa primarily plays on the left flank but is capable of featuring on the right, offering versatility that appeals to both clubs. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has specifically identified Nusa as a target, while Liverpool had also considered Yan Diomande, who has since expressed a preference for a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Liverpool are now pursuing Bradley Barcola from PSG.
RB Leipzig are reportedly reluctant to sell Nusa, but Arsenal are prepared to test their resolve with the initial €40 million bid. Leipzig are believed to value Nusa at €60 million (£51m), meaning Arsenal may need to significantly increase their offer to secure an agreement. The Gunners are also reportedly open to offers for Gabriel Martinelli, which could provide additional funds for a move for Nusa or other targets like Morgan Rogers and Christos Tzolis, who are also under consideration.
The potential arrival of Nusa would provide Arteta with another dynamic attacking option, while for Liverpool, it represents a shift in focus after missing out on their initial targets. Both clubs are actively reshaping their attacking lineups ahead of the new season.
