Arsenal are reportedly in contention to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, with the French club now open to offers for the winger this summer. According to L'Equipe, discussions over a contract extension with Barcola have stalled, stemming from his frustration over a decreased role in the team following the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January 2025. PSG are willing to allow him to leave if a suitable bid is presented, despite initially hoping to retain his services.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 and has shown flashes of potential, but has struggled for consistent playing time. The 21-year-old has represented France at the international level, adding to his appeal for Premier League clubs. Liverpool have also been strongly linked with a move for the player.
In separate news, Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United. The Times reports that Fernandes is prioritizing a move to Old Trafford, despite Arsenal also expressing strong interest. West Ham are holding firm on a €92 million asking price, which Manchester United are currently hesitant to meet, though expectations are growing that a deal will be reached.
Atletico Madrid are also preparing to enter negotiations with Chelsea for left-back Marc Cucurella, as reported by Ben Jacobs. The Spain international is a “leading target” for Atletico, with director Mateu Alemany a long-time admirer. Cucurella has indicated he is focused on the upcoming World Cup, but is believed to be open to a move away from Chelsea after their failure to qualify for European competition. Newcastle United have also rekindled their interest in Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, while Tottenham are preparing a bid of around €70 million for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo.
