Arsenal are preparing an initial €80 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, according to CaughtOffside. The Gunners have identified the France international as a key target and are now poised to formally test PSG’s willingness to sell.
PSG are reportedly holding firm with a valuation exceeding €100 million, creating a significant gap between the two clubs. This difference in valuation could complicate negotiations, particularly with Liverpool also expressing interest in acquiring Barcola. The 21-year-old joined PSG from Lyon last summer and featured in 30 Ligue 1 matches, scoring six goals. He has represented France at various youth levels and earned his first senior cap in September 2023.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has dismissed reports linking Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur with a move for Mason Greenwood, currently playing for Marseille. Romano stated that while there is “concrete interest” in Greenwood from clubs in Serie A, a return to the Premier League appears unlikely at this time. Greenwood spent last season on loan at Marseille, scoring 12 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions.
Arsenal have also identified Brentford striker Igor Thiago as a priority target this summer, as reported by RTI Esporte. Thiago is currently participating in the Copa América with Brazil, though he did not feature in their recent match against Haiti following a less impactful performance in the tournament opener against Morocco. The 27-year-old enjoyed a prolific season for Brentford, finding the net 25 times in all competitions, attracting attention from several top clubs, including Manchester United. Mikel Arteta is believed to be a long-time admirer of Thiago’s physical and direct style of play.
The pursuit of Barcola indicates Arsenal’s intent to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season, while the interest in Thiago suggests a desire to add a proven goalscorer to their squad. Securing either player would represent a significant addition to Arteta’s team as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title once again.
