Arsenal are preparing to sell Gabriel Jesus, Christian Norgaard, and Fabio Vieira this summer, according to a report from The Athletic. The trio arrived at the Emirates Stadium for a combined £91 million but are now deemed surplus to requirements as the club plans for the new season.
The potential departures come as sporting director Andrea Berta assesses the Gunners’ squad following their Premier League title challenge. While Arsenal finished as champions, Berta is reportedly looking to refine the team, potentially making at least three signings this summer, with a winger identified as a top priority, alongside a midfielder and a right-back. Fabrizio Romano previously stated that the number of signings could increase depending on player exits.
Gabriel Jesus, signed from Manchester City for £45 million, is expected to be available for significantly less, with Arsenal now valuing him at between £18 million and £20 million due to having only one year remaining on his contract. Christian Norgaard, who cost £12 million including add-ons, and Fabio Vieira, a £34 million addition, are also likely to be moved on.
Beyond these three, the club are also considering the futures of Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and young prospect Ethan Nwaneri. Any exit for Martinelli or Trossard would be contingent on bringing in a replacement winger, with Kenan Yildiz, Yan Diomande, Bradley Barcola, and Rafael Leao among those previously linked. Arsenal have also agreed a deal to sign Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga, a 16-year-old winger, for the future. These moves signal a willingness to reshape the attacking options at the Emirates, despite a recent successful campaign.
The changes suggest Arsenal are aiming to build a sustained period of success, learning from the experiences of other clubs, such as Liverpool, who saw their fortunes decline after significant alterations to a title-winning squad.
