Arsenal are reportedly in a strong position to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, with Barcelona unwilling to exceed a €100 million bid and Real Madrid shifting focus to defensive reinforcements, according to AS. This development leaves Arsenal as potentially the sole remaining suitor for the Argentina international, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €113 million.
Further bolstering their attacking options, Arsenal are also heavily linked with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. Sources indicate that Rogers’ representatives have engaged in substantial transfer talks with only Arsenal and Bayern Munich, with the 23-year-old seemingly prioritizing a move to either of those clubs. Should a move to the Gunners or the Bavarian giants fail to materialize, Rogers is expected to remain at Villa Park for another season.
However, Arsenal may face disappointment in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown, with multiple reports suggesting he has already agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich. Talks between the two clubs are progressing, and Brown appears set to become Vincent Kompany’s first signing of the summer.
Meanwhile, intermediaries have alerted Arsenal to the potential availability of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. Following a loan spell with Barcelona, Rashford is due to return to Old Trafford, but United are reportedly keen to move him on, offering him to clubs across Europe. The Gunners are among those to have been informed of his availability.
Mikel Arteta has also reportedly requested that the Arsenal hierarchy pursue Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, according to Fichajes. The 26-year-old is said to be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium, but Forest are reluctant to sell, meaning Arsenal would likely need to submit a significant bid. Finally, Manchester United are preparing an opening offer of around €75 million for Arsenal target Mateus Fernandes, though this is reportedly below West Ham’s current valuation of the 21-year-old.
