Arsenal will make a decision today regarding a potential club-record bid for Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis, according to TEAMtalk. The 24-year-old Greek international has reportedly expressed a desire to return to the Premier League after a previous spell with Norwich City.
The potential move comes amid speculation surrounding possible departures in Arsenal’s forward line this summer, with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli both potentially available. Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to seek replacements should either player leave the Emirates.
Tzolis enjoyed a prolific 2025/26 season with Club Brugge, scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists, attracting the attention of Arsenal scouts. The Belgian club currently value the forward at £35million, a transfer fee that would represent a Belgian league record.
Arsenal are not the only Premier League club interested in Tzolis, with at least six other teams, including Manchester United and Chelsea, also monitoring the player. Sources indicate that Tzolis is open to joining any of those clubs, keen to prove himself in England after a less impactful stint with Norwich, where he scored three goals in 30 appearances between 2021 and 2024.
However, Arsenal may have some reservations, particularly considering the performance of Viktor Gyokeres following his move from Sporting CP. Gyokeres, who had a similar goal-scoring record in his final season in Portugal to Tzolis’s recent form, scored 21 goals in his debut season with the Gunners, a return the club may hope Tzolis can match or exceed. There is concern that Tzolis could experience a similar dip in form, and the club may explore options with more established Premier League experience.
TEAMtalk also reports that Arsenal are nearing a new contract for manager Mikel Arteta, which would make him the highest-paid manager in English football.
