Atalanta are pursuing Nicolò Savona, the right-back currently with Nottingham Forest, according to reports from Italy. The Bergamo club’s sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has identified Savona as a key target to replace Marco Palestra, who is attracting interest from Inter, as well as Manchester City and Newcastle United.
Giuntoli is familiar with Savona from his time at Juventus, where he reportedly predicted a bright future for the 2003-born defender. A move to Atalanta would reunite the pair, with Giuntoli potentially offering Savona a prominent role in the team. No fee or contract details have yet been disclosed.
Savona has featured sporadically for Nottingham Forest since joining the club, struggling to establish himself as a regular starter in the Premier League. He has made 16 appearances for the club since joining in 2023. A return to Italy could offer him more consistent playing time and a chance to further develop his game.
Elsewhere in Serie A, Como have rejected a €50 million offer from Aston Villa for Baturina, deeming the midfielder unsellable. The club are close to renewing the contract of captain Da Cunha until 2031 and have expressed interest in Benfica’s Pavlidis and Cruzeiro’s Kaiki for attacking and defensive reinforcements respectively.
Lazio are looking to strengthen their defense following the expected departure of Alessio Romagnoli to Al Sadd, where he is set to earn €6 million per season plus bonuses. Fabio Chiarodia of Mönchengladbach and Diego Coppola of Brighton are potential replacements. Matteo Cancellieri is likely to leave Lazio as his contract situation remains unresolved.
Roma are progressing with contract extensions for Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini, both until 2028, with Gianluca Mancini also poised to extend his stay until 2029. Cagliari have appointed Pietro Accardi as their new sporting director, who will prioritize extending the contract of coach Fabio Pisacane. Frosinone are nearing a loan deal for Antonio Raimondo from Bologna. Sassuolo will not be making Vranckx’s loan permanent, and have appointed Alberto Aquilani as their new head coach.
