SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu has rejected transfer approaches from newly promoted Premier League clubs Hull City and Coventry City, reports Bild. The 24-year-old is reportedly prioritizing options with clubs who will offer a more prominent role in the English top flight.
Atubolu’s future at Freiburg is uncertain following the recent acquisition of Mio Backhaus, leading the German club to consider a sale one year before the player’s current contract expires. Bild reports a transfer fee of approximately €20 million has been discussed as a potential valuation for the goalkeeper.
Atubolu progressed through the Freiburg academy, becoming a regular first-team player during the 2023-24 season where he made 32 appearances in all competitions. He has also represented Germany at various youth levels, including the Under-21s, earning 13 caps. His performances for Freiburg have attracted attention from several Premier League clubs seeking to strengthen their goalkeeping options.
According to Bild, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, and one currently unnamed Premier League club are still actively pursuing Atubolu. The player has reportedly requested to be excluded from Freiburg’s pre-season training camp in Austria to avoid any complications with a potential transfer. This suggests Atubolu is keen to finalize a move quickly and is focused on securing a transfer to a club that meets his ambitions.
