Barcelona are considering a move for free agent Dusan Vlahovic as Paris Saint-Germain accelerate their pursuit of Ferran Torres, according to reports in Spain. The potential deal is contingent on Torres completing a transfer to the Ligue 1 champions, with negotiations between PSG and Barcelona reportedly at an advanced stage.
Paris Saint-Germain have identified Torres as a key target to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Gonçalo Ramos to Milan. Sources indicate that Torres is receptive to a move to Paris, where he would reunite with Luis Enrique, his former manager with the Spanish national team. Barcelona, however, are reportedly holding out for a fee of around €50 million for the former Manchester City player, despite Torres currently being with the Spain squad at the World Cup.
Vlahovic, who recently became a free agent after leaving Juventus, has emerged as a potential replacement should Torres depart. Sport reports that Barcelona have revisited the possibility of signing the Serbian forward, who was previously linked with a move to the club earlier this year. A significant advantage for Barcelona is that they would only be responsible for Vlahovic’s wages, given his current free agent status.
Barcelona are also evaluating other options, including Fisnik Asllani, a Kosovan forward currently playing for Hoffenheim whose release clause is set at €29 million. However, Vlahovic represents a particularly attractive opportunity due to the lack of a transfer fee. Should the Torres deal to PSG be finalized, Barcelona appear prepared to make a swift move for one of their identified targets, with Vlahovic currently positioned as a leading contender.
