Barcelona are considering a move for Darwin Nunez, currently contracted to Al-Hilal, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo. The Uruguayan striker’s name surfaced during negotiations between Barcelona and Al-Hilal regarding a permanent deal for Joao Cancelo.
Nunez was deregistered from Al-Hilal’s Saudi Pro League squad in February to accommodate Karim Benzema, and the club are now contemplating terminating his contract to allow him to find a new club. Barcelona are in the market for attacking reinforcements, having recently submitted a €100 million bid for Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid, but are facing resistance in their pursuit of the Argentinian forward.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are monitoring the situation of Ferran Torres at Barcelona, as reported by TEAMtalk. Barcelona are open to selling Torres, despite admiration from incoming manager Hansi Flick, and have even offered him as part of a potential deal to sign Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, a proposition that has reportedly frustrated the player. The Gunners are now considering a “shock” move for the former Manchester City winger.
Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella is also planning an exit from Stamford Bridge this summer, as per The Athletic. Despite not being formally sanctioned to leave by the club earlier this year, Cucurella’s desire for consistent European football has been heightened by Chelsea’s failure to qualify for European competition. Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are both in contact with the left-back, with Real Madrid also reportedly holding an interest. Incoming Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso reportedly attempted to persuade Cucurella to stay, but was unsuccessful.
Further transfer activity sees Stade Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen touring Chelsea’s training facilities, as reported by Canal Plus, while PSG have expressed interest in Bournemouth’s Eli Kroupi. Newcastle United are also reportedly in advanced talks with Jaouen regarding personal terms, and Reims are seeking a fee of around €25 million for the 20-year-old shot-stopper.
