Barcelona are considering a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the month, according to Mundo Deportivo. The potential deal is currently linked to the club’s primary target, Atlético Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, and the possibility of further departures from the Camp Nou attack.
Alvarez is reportedly keen to join Barcelona, but the club is also exploring alternative options in the forward line. Vlahovic, whose contract with Juventus expires on June 30th, presents a low-cost opportunity for the Catalan side, though he is not currently viewed as a first-team regular. The differing profiles of the two players – Alvarez being more dynamic and Vlahovic a more traditional centre-forward – are a key factor in Barcelona’s assessment.
Vlahovic’s potential arrival is further complicated by his wage demands, which reportedly include a salary of around €8 million per season, plus a signing bonus of €15 million. While these figures represent a significant financial commitment, the fact that he would be joining on a free transfer mitigates the overall cost. Juventus are aware of the situation and the potential for losing a key player without a transfer fee.
Barcelona are also reportedly monitoring Alexander Sorloth, currently at Atlético Madrid, as another potential reinforcement. Interestingly, Sorloth has also been linked with a move to Juventus, potentially as a replacement for Vlahovic. This creates a complex web of potential transfers between the three clubs. Bayern Munich, Besiktas, and Atlético Madrid have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Vlahovic, although Barcelona appears to be a more concrete option at this stage.
Should Ferran Torres leave Barcelona this summer, Vlahovic would become a more viable option as a backup forward. The club’s attacking options are currently under review as they prepare for the next season, and Vlahovic’s availability on a free transfer makes him an attractive prospect despite not being the club’s initial priority.
