Barcelona have made a formal approach to representatives of Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, signalling their intent to secure his services this summer. The 32-year-old England international was a prolific goalscorer last season, finding the net 36 times in 31 Bundesliga appearances and adding a further seven goals for England at the 2026 World Cup so far.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Kane’s representatives have indicated a preference for negotiating a new contract with Bayern Munich, suggesting the player is currently focused on remaining in Germany. Barcelona are prepared to intensify their pursuit following the conclusion of Kane’s involvement in the World Cup, reportedly ready to make a significant offer should they receive any indication of the player’s willingness to move. Bayern Munich, however, are currently unwilling to sell their key forward.
In other transfer news, Newcastle United are monitoring Freiburg’s Johan Manzambi after the Swiss international’s impressive performances at the World Cup, where he has scored three goals and provided one assist. Manzambi’s form has boosted his profile after a season in which he scored five goals and registered four assists in the Bundesliga. Newcastle are considering Manzambi as a potential replacement for Bruno Guimaraes, who is attracting interest from Arsenal, and Sandro Tonali, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham. Manzambi is valued around £40 million (€50m).
Chelsea defender Malo Gusto has reportedly agreed to a move to Manchester City, seeking a reunion with incoming manager Enzo Maresca. Foot Mercato reports that Gusto is eager to work under Maresca again, and City are now preparing to enter formal negotiations with Chelsea. Chelsea are unlikely to release the 23-year-old for a low fee, with reports suggesting a transfer fee of approximately €86.7 million (£75m) would be required.
Finally, Mason Mount could be set for a move to AC Milan, where he would reunite with former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim. MilanPress.it claim that Mount feels unsettled under Michael Carrick and Amorim has given the green light to pursue the midfielder, potentially for a fee of €25 million.
