Barcelona have submitted a formal offer to Club Brugge for 18-year-old winger Jesse Bisiwu, according to reports in MD. The Catalan club have been tracking the Belgian youth international for several months, with their interest dating back to his performances at the under-17 World Cup in November 2025.
Barcelona’s scouting department first identified Bisiwu last summer, and have been exploring a potential deal since then. Agent Mobindi Marthy confirmed Barcelona’s interest in February, noting that several other major clubs were also monitoring the player. Barcelona’s Head of Scouting, Joao Amaral, recently attended the UEFA Youth League final, reportedly to discuss Bisiwu with Brugge Sporting Director Devy Rigaux.
Barcelona’s strategy is to secure Bisiwu for their Barca Atletic side initially, allowing him to adapt to the club and train with the first team, similar to the approach taken with Roony Bardghji. The details of the offer remain undisclosed at this time, and Barcelona are awaiting a response from Brugge.
Brugge’s willingness to sell may be influenced by Bisiwu’s desire to move to Barcelona and the fact that his current contract has only one year remaining. However, previous reports suggest Brugge were confident of agreeing a contract extension with the winger, believing his value would increase with regular first-team football. The club were reportedly not in a rush to negotiate a transfer.
Barcelona’s potential move for Bisiwu is also contingent on decisions regarding current players, with Hansi Flick needing to determine the futures of loanees João Cancelo and Marcus Rashford, as well as veteran striker Robert Lewandowski. Securing a promising young talent like Bisiwu would further bolster Barcelona’s attacking options and continue their focus on developing future stars.
