AC Milan defender Davide Bartesaghi has stated his ambition to remain with the club for the foreseeable future. The 2005-born left-back shared his sentiments during an interview at Casa Milan with club legend Serginho, an event organized by the Rossoneri. The interview, conducted by ‘Off the Pitch’, focused on Bartesaghi’s career to date and his connection to the club.
Bartesaghi acknowledged the differences between Serginho’s era at Milan and the present day, noting the presence of champions in both periods but highlighting a shift in the overall environment. He emphasized his deep passion for Milan, citing the club’s history as a key factor in his affinity. The young defender described his dream as staying with the club “as long as possible,” calling it a “magnificent” organization.
He fondly recalled winning the Supercoppa Italiana in 2025, describing it as an unexpected but cherished moment – his first trophy as a professional. Bartesaghi praised the team spirit within the Milan dressing room, stressing the importance of respect for senior players and open communication. He shared a specific anecdote about Rafael Leão complimenting his performance against Sassuolo and subsequently gifting him a large framed picture of his celebration.
Bartesaghi spoke of the incredible emotion of breaking into the first team, recognizing the need to continue improving and contributing even more. He explained his choice of the number 33 shirt, acknowledging the significance of the number 3 which is already worn by a senior player. When asked to compare himself to Serginho, Bartesaghi humbly stated that he did not see the similarities, describing himself as more static while acknowledging Serginho’s explosive style of play. In a rapid-fire question segment, Bartesaghi named Luka Modric as the strongest player in the squad and identified Mohamed Salah and Lamine Yamal as challenging opponents.
Bartesaghi’s comments underscore his commitment to Milan and his eagerness to develop within the club’s system. His recent breakthrough into the first team suggests a promising future, and his dedication to continuous improvement will be crucial as he strives to establish himself as a key player. The club will be keen to retain a player who clearly embodies the values and ambition of the Rossoneri.
