Bayern Munich made contact with Manchester United regarding Marcus Rashford before turning their attention to PSV Eindhoven’s Ismael Saibari, according to Fabrizio Romano. While Bayern appreciated Rashford, the financial implications of a deal for the England international proved prohibitive, with Saibari representing a more affordable option.
Rashford’s future remains uncertain following Barcelona’s decision not to pursue a permanent transfer after his loan spell, despite a reported €30million (£26m) option existing. The club confirmed they are not currently in negotiations with Bayern for Rashford, and their focus has shifted to other targets.
Ruben Amorim is a leading candidate to become the new manager of AC Milan, currently in a 50/50 race with Al-Ahli’s Matthias Jaissle. Amorim has been without a club since leaving United in January, and is reportedly open to taking the role at the San Siro. Talks are underway, though Jaissle remains a contender, but would require a compensation fee to Al-Ahli due to his existing contract.
Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire are aggressively pursuing both Robert Lewandowski and Leon Goretzka on free transfers. Lewandowski is currently in the United States negotiating with the club, with a two or three-year contract on the table. Goretzka, also a free agent after his contract with Bayern Munich expires, is also a target for Chicago, though he reportedly prefers to remain in Europe and join a Champions League-caliber club.
Tottenham Hotspur have rejected two bids from Brighton and Hove Albion for defender Luka Vuskovic, the second offer totaling €35million (£30m). Vuskovic is reportedly open to a move to Brighton if Tottenham agree to a deal, but Spurs have so far been unwilling to sell. The club has rejected both proposals, and negotiations are ongoing.
