Bayern Munich have no intention of selling Michael Olise this summer, with the club viewing the French international as indispensable, according to reports in L’Équipe. The 24-year-old forward is currently under contract with the Bavarian giants until June 2029, and club officials suggest it would take an astronomical offer to prise him away from the Allianz Arena.
Olise has impressed across Europe, most recently with France during their participation in the recent World Cup. His performances, particularly on the right flank for Bayern, have reportedly caught the eye of Real Madrid, who were said to have been impressed during their Champions League quarter-final tie against the German side. Spanish media are closely monitoring the stance of recently re-elected Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez regarding a potential move for the player.
However, Real Madrid have already had a €150 million bid rejected for Atlético Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, suggesting their spending may be focused elsewhere. Bayern officials are adamant that Olise is not for sale at any price, with one board member stating he is “priceless, even at €500 million.” Another source within the club indicated that even a bid of €200 million would be insufficient to convince them to part ways with the player.
Manchester City, where Olise spent time in their academy during the 2016-2017 season, are not currently considered a likely destination. Paris Saint-Germain have also expressed interest, with the club’s sporting director reportedly sounding out the possibility of a transfer. However, PSG’s willingness to spend heavily on individual players appears to have diminished in recent times.
Negotiations with Bayern have historically proven difficult for PSG, with only Juan Bernat and Lucas Hernandez having moved from Munich to Paris since Qatar Sports Investments took ownership in 2011. Bayern are proactively seeking to tie Olise down to a new contract, hoping to extend his deal by two years until 2031 and double his current salary. Whether this will be enough to ward off potential suitors in the future remains to be seen.
Olise joined Bayern Munich two years ago and has quickly established himself as a key player. His ability to impact matches has made him a fan favorite and a vital component of the team’s attack. Securing his long-term future is now a priority for the club.
