Bayern Munich are aiming to generate between €50 and €60 million through the sale of four players, according to a report in Kicker. The German champions are looking to recoup funds as they approach the completion of deals for Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt and Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven.
The players identified for potential departures are João Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza, Sacha Boey, and Alexander Nübel, all of whom spent the 2023/24 season on loan. Kicker reports that each player has been informed they are not currently in Bayern’s first-team plans. However, the club acknowledges that securing suitable offers and achieving desired valuations presents a challenge.
João Palhinha’s situation is particularly noteworthy, with Tottenham Hotspur expressing interest in turning his loan spell into a permanent transfer. However, the Premier League club are reportedly hesitant to meet the agreed €30 million option to buy included in the original loan agreement, and are attempting to negotiate a lower fee. Palhinha joined Bayern from Fulham last summer but made limited appearances before being loaned back to the Premier League in January.
Bryan Zaragoza arrived at Bayern in January from Granada but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, making only a handful of appearances for the club. Sacha Boey joined Bayern in February from Galatasaray but also found first-team opportunities limited, subsequently being loaned out. Alexander Nübel, a former Schalke goalkeeper, has spent the last season on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach, and has previously expressed frustration with his limited role at Bayern.
Kicker also suggests that Hiroki Ito and Min-jae Kim could be subject to offers, should clubs present acceptable bids. Ito, a Japanese defender, joined Bayern from Stuttgart, while Kim arrived from Napoli last summer but has not consistently featured in the starting eleven. The potential sales would allow Bayern to further reshape their squad under manager Thomas Tuchel, and potentially fund additional acquisitions during the transfer window. These moves signal a clear shift in strategy for Bayern, focusing on streamlining the squad and maximizing financial resources.
