Bayern Munich are preparing a significant contract extension for Michael Olise in an attempt to deter interest from Real Madrid, according to Bild head of football Christian Falk. The proposed deal would extend Olise’s stay at the Allianz Arena until 2031, adding two years to his existing contract which currently runs until 2028.
Olise enjoyed a breakout 2025/26 season with Bayern, earning the Bundesliga Player of the Season award after a remarkable campaign that saw him contribute 22 goals and 31 assists across 52 appearances in all competitions. His exceptional form has attracted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, most notably Real Madrid, but Bayern have consistently stated their desire to retain the Frenchman.
The proposed extension includes a substantial increase to Olise’s salary, moving it from approximately €15 million per year to around €25 million. This would place him amongst Bayern’s highest earners, reflecting his importance to the team and their commitment to securing his long-term future. The club clearly views Olise as a key component of their plans moving forward.
Olise currently represents France at the World Cup, where he recently delivered a Player of the Match performance in Les Bleus’ 3-1 victory over Senegal. He initially joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024, quickly establishing himself as a pivotal player under manager Thomas Tuchel. His ability to both score and create goals has made him a favourite among fans and a nightmare for opposing defenders.
Securing Olise to a new long-term contract would represent a significant victory for Bayern, solidifying their attacking options and potentially deterring any future bids from clubs like Real Madrid. The move underlines Bayern’s ambition to remain a dominant force in both domestic and European football.
