Jonathan Asp Jensen will be sold by Bayern Munich upon his return from a loan spell with Grasshopper Club Zurich, according to Kicker. The 20-year-old Danish midfielder has impressed in Switzerland, registering nine goals and five assists in 37 appearances for Grasshoppers since joining last summer.
Despite his positive form, Bayern view Jensen as surplus to requirements due to the strength in depth within their midfield options. The German champions are therefore prepared to sanction a sale, though they may consider including a buy-back clause in any deal, Kicker reports. Jensen signed for Bayern from FC Midtjylland in 2022 and currently has a contract with the club that runs until 2028.
Jensen made his senior debut for Bayern in May 2025, appearing as a late substitute under then-manager Thomas Tuchel. However, opportunities have remained limited, prompting the loan move to Switzerland to gain regular first-team experience. His performances for Grasshoppers have demonstrated his potential, attracting interest from other clubs.
The decision to sell Jensen reflects Bayern’s commitment to maintaining a high level of competition for places within the squad. While the club recognizes his talent, they believe his development would be better served with consistent playing time elsewhere. A sale will also generate funds that can be reinvested in other areas of the team. This move could allow Jensen to establish himself as a key player at another European club, potentially returning to the Bundesliga in the future should Bayern activate any buy-back clause.
