West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has stated his intention to remain with the club following their relegation to the Championship, despite reported interest from several Premier League giants. Bowen’s announcement came after West Ham’s 3-0 victory over Leeds United proved insufficient to avoid the drop, with Tottenham Hotspur securing Premier League survival.
West Ham will compete in the second tier of English football for the first time since 2012, leading to speculation about potential departures of key players. Midfielder Mateus Fernandes is widely expected to leave, with Arsenal and Manchester United both expressing interest. Crysencio Summerville and El Hadji Malick Diouf have also been linked with moves away from the London Stadium.
Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United were all reportedly considering bids for Bowen, anticipating West Ham’s willingness to sell following their relegation. However, the 29-year-old has publicly dismissed the possibility of leaving, prioritizing the challenge of guiding the Hammers back to the Premier League.
Speaking to Sky Sports after relegation was confirmed, Bowen emphasized his commitment to the club, stating, “Ultimately, this season we haven’t been good enough and we’ve paid the price. I’m under contract here. I’ve been here for six-and-a-half years. I’ve had some really high moments and this is a low moment that will outweigh everything.” He continued, “There’s going to be rumours, there’s going to be talk. Ultimately, what I see is getting this club back in the Premier League because that is where it deserves to be.”
Bowen enjoyed a productive 2025-26 season, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances. His continued presence will be crucial for West Ham as they aim for an immediate return to the top flight, establishing him as a standout player in the Championship. Bowen’s current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €36.8 million, with a range of €33.1M - €40.5M, according to FootballTransfers data.
Bowen’s decision represents a significant boost for West Ham, offering stability and leadership during a period of transition. His commitment could also influence other players to remain at the club, strengthening their promotion push.
