Former Gabon international Yrondu Musavu-King has died at the age of 34. The defender, who began his career at Stade Malherbe Caen, also played for Lorient, Toulouse, and Le Mans during his professional career. Musavu-King came through the youth system at Caen, making his professional debut for the club. He went on to represent Gabon on 14 occasions, and his decision to play for the national team was previously discussed in a 2016 interview. His father was a Gabonese politician.
Musavu-King retired from professional football in 2022 after a spell in India. He was a versatile defender capable of playing in multiple positions, and featured regularly for several Ligue 1 clubs throughout his career. He was known for his physical presence and aerial ability.
