Manchester United are leaning towards appointing Michael Carrick as their permanent manager, with sources at the club indicating the Englishman is the clear frontrunner for the position. Fabrizio Romano reported on YouTube that United internally believe Carrick is the favourite to continue as boss next season, despite other speculation, and a decision is expected soon.
Matheus Cunha may not feature in Manchester United’s remaining Premier League matches, with ESPN Brasil reporting an agreement has been reached for the attacker to be rested ahead of the World Cup. United have already secured a Champions League spot under Carrick and are unlikely to change position in the league table, making the decision to prioritize Cunha’s fitness for international duty logical.
A potential €90 million bid from the Saudi Pro League for Raphinha could significantly impact Marcus Rashford’s future. Barcelona, where Rashford is currently on loan, are hesitant to pay the €30 million required to make the move permanent, but a substantial offer for Raphinha could force them to reconsider, making Rashford a more attractive option. The arrival of funds from a Raphinha sale would make Rashford’s fee more palatable for the Catalan club.
Manchester United are also revisiting their interest in left-back Adrien Truffert of Bournemouth, according to TeamTalk. While Luke Shaw has been performing well, the club recognizes the need for greater depth in that position with the return of Champions League football next season. Other options being considered include RB Leipzig’s David Raum and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly, suggesting a broad search for defensive reinforcement.
