Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is set to join Inter Miami, according to reports emerging from the Italian calciomercato. The move will reunite him with Cristiano Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammate, Lionel Messi. The agreement between the parties was reportedly reached during the recent World Cup, with the signing and official announcement now expected imminently.
Casemiro’s departure from Manchester United follows a disappointing season where his contract was not renewed. He previously enjoyed significant success alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid, winning multiple Champions League titles. Inter Miami will be hoping he can bring that experience and leadership to the MLS side.
Elsewhere in Italy, Lucas Beltràn is nearing a return to River Plate after a loan spell at Valencia. Fiorentina have reportedly reached an agreement in principle for the permanent transfer of the Argentinian forward, with Beltràn’s approval being the final step. He made 30 appearances and scored 3 goals for Valencia during his loan period.
Juventus have exercised their counter-option for goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara, following an impressive season on loan at Avellino in Serie B. The 2004-born shot-stopper has progressed rapidly through Juventus’ youth system, making his professional debut in 2023 and becoming a regular starter for Avellino, accumulating 83 appearances. He has also received a call-up to the Italian national team.
Several other moves are developing across Europe. Manchester United are reportedly interested in Dutch midfielder Summerville, currently at West Ham, while Guido Angelozzi has been appointed as the new Sporting Director of Spezia, signing a three-year contract. Gary O'Neil is poised to become the new manager of Ipswich Town, leaving his position at Strasbourg. Juventus have also completed the permanent signing of Giacomo Faticanti from Lecce, securing him with a contract until 2029.
In France, Lyon are showing interest in Openda, while AC Milan have officially signed 17-year-old English winger Aurelien Guernier on a deal until 2029 with an option for a two-year extension. Como have secured the signing of Brazilian left-back Kaiki on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for 14 million euros.
