Chelsea are undergoing a significant rebuild under new manager Xabi Alonso, and the club anticipates completing ten transfers before the end of July, according to reports. The Blues have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid and Tyrique George this summer, and have confirmed Marco Palestra’s arrival from Atalanta for a fee of €57 million.
Deals for Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev, and Denner were agreed prior to the summer window and the players will soon join pre-season training. With no European football next season, Chelsea are looking to streamline their squad and bring in fresh talent.
Maxence Lacroix of Crystal Palace is a primary target to partner Levi Colwill in central defence, though Como’s Jacobo Ramon is considered as an alternative. Rayo Vallecano’s Pep Chavarria is being considered as a backup left-back option following Cucurella’s departure, with advanced negotiations underway. Argentinian Valentin Barco is also expected to officially join from Strasbourg imminently, having already confirmed his exit from the French club.
Several players are expected to leave Stamford Bridge. Andrey Santos has agreed to a €58 million move to Manchester United, potentially representing a significant profit for Chelsea. Filip Jorgensen is set to depart in search of regular first-team football, with Mike Penders expected to return from his loan spell at Strasbourg. Axel Disasi, after a loan at West Ham United, is also being offloaded, as is Benoit Badiashile, whose form dipped after a promising start.
Trevoh Chalobah is attracting interest from Inter Milan and Como, while Marc Guiu is expected to leave on loan or permanently following the arrival of Emmanuel Emegha. David Datro Fofana, who has had five loan spells, is also likely to be sold. Chelsea will also consider offers for Enzo Fernandez, Malo Gusto and Alejandro Garnacho. Academy players Jesse Derry and Harrison Murray-Campbell have agreed loan moves to Sporting CP and KV Kortrijk respectively.
These moves signal a clear intent from Alonso to reshape the Chelsea squad ahead of the 2026-27 season, aiming for a more streamlined and competitive team.
