Chelsea are not currently planning to sell winger Pedro Neto this summer, despite reported interest from Liverpool, according to a report in The London Evening Standard. The club’s owners, BlueCo, would consider serious offers for the 26-year-old Portugal international, but are not actively pursuing a sale.
Neto joined Chelsea from Wolves in the summer of 2024, signing a long-term contract that runs until 2031 for a reported fee of £54 million. He has since made 103 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and providing 19 assists. The recent £117 million acquisition of Morgan Rogers, capable of playing in similar positions, had prompted speculation about Neto’s future at Stamford Bridge.
Manager Xabi Alonso has several options available to him in wide areas, including Cole Palmer, Jamie Gittens, Estevao, and Geovany Quenda. The departure of Alejandro Garnacho to Aston Villa this month further complicated the picture, but Chelsea’s stance remains that Neto is not a priority for an exit.
Liverpool have been linked with Neto as they search for potential attacking reinforcements. Journalist Dave Davis reported on The Transfer Show that Neto is among the wingers Liverpool are considering, noting the club’s renewed relationship with agent Jorge Mendes, who represents the player. Davis highlighted Neto’s strengths as a carrier of the ball, a passer, and a quality crosser, suggesting the player himself would be receptive to a move to Anfield.
While Chelsea are open to listening to offers, they are not proactively seeking to move Neto on, indicating his continued value to Alonso’s squad. This development potentially complicates Liverpool’s plans, though a substantial bid could still tempt Chelsea to part ways with the Portuguese international.
