Chelsea are prepared to sell forward Alejandro Garnacho just one year after his arrival from Manchester United, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano. The club has given the Argentina international permission to leave, with initial inquiries from interested clubs already underway.
Chelsea signed Garnacho for a reported £40 million last summer, but the 22-year-old did not establish himself as a regular starter under manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues have already invested heavily in attacking options this summer, bringing in Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, and Emmanuel Emegha, potentially contributing to the decision to allow Garnacho to depart.
Chelsea are seeking a substantial fee for the winger, initially valuing him at £90 million. However, sources indicate that a more realistic asking price of £60 million could be enough to secure a deal. This would still represent a significant profit for the club, having acquired Garnacho for less than that figure only twelve months ago.
Interest in Garnacho is reportedly coming from Saudi Arabian clubs, with the player himself open to considering a move to the Saudi Pro League. Serie A side Napoli, who previously expressed interest while Garnacho was at Manchester United, also remain admirers, though the £60 million price tag may prove a barrier. Manchester United themselves will benefit from any sale, due to a 10 percent sell-on clause included in the original transfer agreement.
The potential sale of Garnacho would further fund Chelsea’s summer rebuild under the new ownership, allowing them to pursue other targets. It also presents an opportunity for Garnacho to find a club where he can secure more consistent playing time and further develop his career.
