Chelsea have agreed scholarship terms with 16-year-old academy player Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, according to transfer news expert David Ornstein. The teenager, widely considered one of England’s most promising talents, has committed to fresh terms with the club to fend off interest from several European clubs.
Nicoll-Jazuli has already featured in training sessions with Chelsea’s first team and reportedly rejected offers from abroad to remain at Stamford Bridge. He is expected to sign a professional contract with the club when he turns 17 in January 2027. This move demonstrates Chelsea’s commitment to developing young players within their academy system.
Meanwhile, the race for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is intensifying, with Liverpool and Manchester United joining Arsenal in the pursuit of the England international. Transfer insider IndyKaila reports Rogers has a price tag of at least €140 million, suggesting a potentially protracted negotiation. Arsenal are currently considered the frontrunners, but both Liverpool and Manchester United are prepared to challenge for his signature.
Manchester United are also reportedly revisiting their interest in Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos, following their unsuccessful attempt to sign Mateus Fernandes. Santos, 22, may be available this summer due to competition for places at Chelsea. Xabi Alonso’s side are reportedly willing to listen to offers, with Santos valued at around €58 million (£50m) according to The Guardian, and Newcastle United also monitoring the situation. Both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano have confirmed United’s renewed interest.
Celtic are accelerating talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential move for Alfie Devine, who impressed on loan at Preston North End last season, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 45 league matches. While Preston had an option to buy Devine for €7 million, the deadline has passed, opening the door for Celtic. However, they face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers, recently relegated from the Premier League. Bournemouth, meanwhile, have informed Manchester United they have no intention of selling Alex Scott this summer, valuing him at around €93 million (£80m).
