Chelsea have agreed scholarship terms with 16-year-old academy player Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic. The promising teenager, widely considered one of England’s top young talents, has committed his future to the club despite reported interest from several European sides.
Nicoll-Jazuli has already featured in training sessions with Chelsea’s first team, indicating the high regard in which he is held by the coaching staff. He reportedly rejected offers from clubs abroad to remain at Chelsea, signing a scholarship deal that will pave the way for a professional contract when he turns 17 in January 2027. This move demonstrates Chelsea’s commitment to developing talent from within their academy.
Meanwhile, the race for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is intensifying, with Liverpool and Manchester United joining Arsenal in the pursuit of the England international. Transfer insider IndyKaila reports that Rogers has a valuation of at least €140 million, suggesting a potentially club-record fee could be required to secure his signature. Arsenal are currently considered the frontrunners, but both Liverpool and Manchester United are prepared to compete for the midfielder.
Manchester United are also revisiting their interest in Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos, following their unsuccessful attempt to sign Mateus Fernandes. Santos, 22, is reportedly open to leaving Stamford Bridge in search of more consistent playing time, and Xabi Alonso’s side are willing to consider offers in the region of €58 million (£50m), as reported by The Guardian. Both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano have confirmed United’s renewed interest in the Brazilian.
Celtic are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Alfie Devine from Tottenham Hotspur. Devine, 21, impressed during a loan spell with Preston North End last season, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 45 league matches. While Preston had an option to buy, the deadline passed without them triggering it, opening the door for Celtic, though they will face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Bournemouth have also stated they have no intention of selling Alex Scott this summer, valuing him at approximately €93 million (£80m).
