Chelsea are on the verge of completing the signing of Marco Palestra from Atalanta, with paperwork being finalised between all parties involved, according to Fabrizio Romano. The transfer window is heating up for the Blues, who are also considering a move for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix, though a deal is not yet advanced. Chelsea are anticipating at least one central defender arrival and potentially a second, dependent on player departures, with Trevoh Chalobah attracting interest.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are pushing to finalise a deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. A direct meeting between the clubs took place on Wednesday evening, and while final details with Forest remain to be resolved, City are determined to complete the transfer quickly, having initially anticipated a more straightforward negotiation. The club do not want the deal to drag on any longer.
Tottenham Hotspur continue to pursue Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, despite speculation linking him with Arsenal and Manchester City. Romano insists the situation remains focused on a move to Tottenham, with no other clubs currently involved in discussions. However, Spurs are also actively exploring other midfield options, including West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes.
Fernandes is also a target for Manchester United, creating a potential transfer battle between the two Premier League clubs. Both sides are in talks with West Ham, with the player’s preference and the overall project presented by each club set to be key factors in his decision. United have already secured Ederson from Atalanta, but are keen to add further quality in midfield.
Real Madrid are expected to recall Nico Paz from his loan spell at Como, with the club intending to activate their buy-back option. A new agreement with Como is a possibility, but if that fails, Paz will return to the Bernabéu. A move for Aurelien Tchouameni to Manchester United appears unlikely at this stage, with salary demands and Real Madrid’s unwillingness to sell presenting significant obstacles. Romano reports no indication from Real Madrid that Tchouameni is available.
Finally, Romano dismissed reports linking Enzo Fernandez with a move to Real Madrid, stating that the Spanish club have not made any contact with Chelsea regarding the midfielder. The situation remains unchanged, with no formal discussions taking place.
