Chelsea have expressed interest in Juventus wing-back Andrea Cambiaso, according to reports in Italy. The potential move comes as Juventus seek to generate funds following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Cambiaso, 24, has previously attracted attention from the Premier League, with Manchester City reportedly considering a bid of up to €65 million in January 2025. That transfer did not materialize, and the player’s form under current Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has been inconsistent. While initially praised for his dynamic movement under former coach Thiago Motta, Cambiaso has faced criticism for technical errors and poor decision-making that have reportedly cost Juventus valuable points.
Despite his recent struggles, Cambiaso’s qualities remain attractive to several clubs. Prior to Chelsea’s interest, both Barcelona and Como had reportedly sent inquiries about the player. Como were looking to bolster their squad with Italian players to meet UEFA squad requirements. Chelsea’s interest is further fueled by uncertainty surrounding the future of Marc Cucurella, who is attracting attention from Manchester City and several Spanish clubs. Should Cucurella depart, Cambiaso is viewed as an ideal replacement.
Juventus are reportedly open to selling Cambiaso, as his relatively low book value would generate a significant profit – estimated between €40 and €50 million – from any sale. The interest from Chelsea represents a potential opportunity for Juventus to address their financial needs and for Cambiaso to reignite his career in the Premier League. A move could provide a fresh start for the Italian international, while also allowing Juventus to reinvest funds in other areas of the squad.
