Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is facing frustration in the transfer market as deals for Bernardo Silva and Alisson have encountered significant obstacles, while the future of Dusan Vlahovic remains uncertain. According to reports from Italy, Spalletti is reportedly angered by the stalled progress and is scheduled to meet with club president John Elkann and sporting director Damien Comolli to reassess the club’s strategy.
The pursuit of Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva has seemingly collapsed, with the Portuguese international reportedly favouring a move to Atletico Madrid. Spalletti had personally contacted Silva in an attempt to persuade him to join Juventus, but the allure of Spain proved too strong. This setback is compounded by the club’s failure to secure Champions League football, a factor that has complicated other potential signings.
Alisson, the experienced Liverpool goalkeeper, also appears increasingly unlikely to move to Turin. While the Brazilian had expressed his desire to reunite with Spalletti, Liverpool are reportedly unwilling to release him on favourable terms, seeking a similar arrangement to the one granted to Mohamed Salah. This stance has left Spalletti “literally stunned” and the deal is now considered precarious.
Vlahovic’s contract situation adds another layer of complexity. With his current deal expiring soon, the Serbian striker has been linked with several top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Barcelona. Spalletti has pushed for Vlahovic’s renewal, but the player has yet to commit, leaving his future in doubt. The lack of Champions League football could further hinder efforts to retain him.
Juventus are now exploring alternative options, including Brahim Diaz of Real Madrid and Tijjani Reijnders of Manchester City. Spalletti is also reportedly keen on giving Douglas Luiz, currently returning from a loan spell at Aston Villa, another opportunity to impress. Goalkeeping alternatives being considered include Giorgi Mamardashvili, David De Gea, and Alexander Nubel. The club is attempting to navigate a difficult transfer window following a disappointing end to the season, and the upcoming summit with Elkann and Comolli will be crucial in shaping their plans for the future.
