Coventry City have completed the signing of winger Loum Tchaouna from Burnley on a five-year contract, the Championship winners confirmed. The 22-year-old French youth international, who has earned ten caps and scored one goal for France’s under-21 side, joins the newly promoted Premier League club permanently.
Tchaouna spent one season with Burnley following his arrival from Italian football, making 32 appearances across all competitions and contributing three goals and one assist. He previously developed through the academies at Strasbourg and Rennes before moving to Italy to further his career. The move to Coventry offers Tchaouna the opportunity to compete in the Premier League, which he described as “the best championship in the world.”
Coventry’s manager, Frank Lampard, will oversee Tchaouna’s integration into the team. Lampard took charge of the club in 2024, seeking to establish himself as a successful manager after previous roles at Derby County, Chelsea, and Everton. The appointment of Lampard and the subsequent signing of Tchaouna signal Coventry’s ambition to solidify their position in the Premier League following their promotion.
Tchaouna expressed his desire to bring “energy, determination and leadership” to Coventry City. His experience playing in Ligue 1, Serie A, and now the Premier League, despite his young age, is expected to be a valuable asset for the team as they navigate their return to the top flight. The signing provides Lampard with another attacking option as Coventry prepare for a challenging season.
