Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a significant investment in their attack this summer, with manager Roberto De Zerbi reportedly seeking three new forward signings at a combined cost exceeding £120million. This comes after a season where the club narrowly avoided relegation, finishing 17th in the Premier League despite the eventual return of several key players from injury.
De Zerbi, who secured survival with a final-day victory over Everton, has already indicated a desire for substantial changes to the squad. He stated after the match that a core of 10 to 12 players would remain, but that significant additions are needed to improve a team that has endured back-to-back disappointing Premier League campaigns. The Italian manager has openly expressed his ambition to build a squad aligned with his “dream” team.
The current forward line has struggled for goals, with Richarlison, Mathys Tel, and Randal Kolo Muani collectively managing only 15 league goals throughout the season. Despite the anticipated return of players like Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, and Wilson Odobert, De Zerbi is prioritising further attacking reinforcement.
According to reports in the Daily Mirror, Manchester City winger Savinho is a key target. A deal was previously considered last summer, and the Brazilian has now been informed he can leave the Etihad Stadium. Despite only scoring one league goal this season due to limited playing time, City may be willing to negotiate a fee around £60million. West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville is also on the radar, with De Zerbi reportedly impressed by his recent form, including a run of four goals in consecutive league matches, despite West Ham’s relegation. The Dutchman is valued at approximately £35million.
Completing the potential attacking trio is AC Milan’s Santiago Gimenez. While the Mexico international endured a difficult season in Italy, scoring no league goals in 16 appearances due to injury, his previous prolific form for Feyenoord – 65 goals in 105 games – has caught De Zerbi’s attention. Milan are reportedly seeking £30million for the striker. However, questions remain regarding Tottenham’s willingness to invest in another forward with a recent injury history. Meanwhile, Joao Palhinha is nearing a move to Sporting, while deals for Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi are reportedly close to completion.
