Kadidiatou Diani has completed a permanent transfer from OL Lyonnes to London City Lionesses, the clubs confirmed. The 31-year-old French attacker has signed a three-year contract with the London-based side.
Diani arrived at Lyon in 2023 and departs with multiple French league titles, a Coupe de France, and a Trophee des Championnes to her name. Notably, both clubs are owned by the Kynisca group, led by Michele Kang, meaning the move represents a transfer within the same ownership structure.
Diani becomes the sixth summer arrival for London City Lionesses, joining recent signings including Alexia Putellas and Mapi León. The French international reportedly was drawn to the ambition of the London club, who are aiming to qualify for the Champions League and secure their first major trophies.
Diani’s departure represents a loss of a key international player for Lyon. She has been a consistent performer for the French national team, and her goals will be missed. London City Lionesses will be hoping she can replicate her goalscoring form in the Women’s Super League.
The move allows Diani to continue her career in a league with growing prominence and ambition. With the backing of the Kynisca group, London City Lionesses are clearly signalling their intent to compete at the highest level, and Diani’s arrival is a significant step in that direction.
